MichałGabriel — architectural & interior photographer, Warsaw
I have been photographing commercially since 2003. I trained as an architect — and that is not an incidental detail in a biography. It changes how I read a space, a floor plan and a project before I even arrive on location.
I gained experience in Poland and abroad — in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Australia. From 2006 I worked in London for a company serving estate agencies. Over time I began photographing for architects, designers, developers and finishing companies. Each of these groups sees space differently. I know how each of them thinks.
What I do
Architecture photography — exteriors and interiors. Residential, commercial, office and industrial buildings. Real estate for sale and rental. Aerial drone photography (licensed ULC operator). Architectural details and finishing details. Night sessions — building illuminations.
How I work
I am from the generation that was first to design in three dimensions on computers. Seeing a floor plan, I immediately know where to place the camera. Knowing both worlds — architecture and photography — I know what to look for, what to show and what to avoid. I notice things that a photographer without this background simply misses.
Over the years I also worked in set design on film and commercial productions. That gave me something concrete: I can prepare a space for the frame independently — and I can support the work of stylists on larger projects.
