In 2026 the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko commissioned a photographic documentation of the programme Sculpture in Public Space 24 sculptures installed in 15 locations across Poland.
The project runs across the whole year. Each sculpture requires a separate visit: different location, different light, different relationship between the work and its surroundings. Some are in city centres, some in parks, some in landscapes far from any urban context.
Sculpture in landscape
Photographing sculpture in public space is not the same as photographing it in a gallery. The work exists in a specific place at a specific time of day. The light, the season, the surroundings all of these are part of the image. The photograph has to show the sculpture and its context simultaneously.
