Oakcent is a Warsaw-based supplier of luxury hardwood floors oak, walnut, ash installed in the most demanding residential and commercial interiors in Poland. The collaboration covers two categories: documentation of completed installations in client interiors, and photography of the craftsmen’s work during installation.
Photographing wood floors is a technical challenge that most photographers underestimate. The material has grain, colour variation, reflection. The angle of the light determines whether the floor reads as warm and rich or flat and characterless. I have been working with Oakcent for several years and understand what the material needs.
Installation documentation
The craftsmen documentation series captures the process of installation: the tools, the material, the hands of the workers. Photographs that show the quality of the work, not just the finished result.
